Coach Woonkyoum “Kid” Kim
He was born and raised in Namyangju, Korea. He began training in Tae Kwon Do at an early age to burn off excess energy and learn discipline. At 18 he saw Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic’s in K-1 and fell in love with martial arts. He started training Muay Thai where he would later earn the nickname “Kid” for his youthful appearance and playful demeanor.
Coach “Kid” soon added Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and mixed martial arts to his training regimen. He would then fight in MMA against Japanese champions where he suffered two losses against his two wins. During a break from MMA he focused solely on his ground game under Coach Kris and earned his blue, purple and brown belt. His style of BJJ can be described as relentless yet effortless. In 2018, with his new found confidence he auditioned for season one of Rich Franklin’s ONE Warrior Series (OWS). ONE FC CEO Chatri Sityodtong would later hand pick Coach “Kid” from OWS and sign him to a contract.
Coach “Kid” has years of teaching experience and worked with numerous Korean celebrities and incorporates his personality and playfulness in all his classes and private lessons.
